Module 1 is designed to help people who are having difficulty switching to CostsMaster, without having some guidance and the opportunity to ask questions. We do however ask that everyone on this course has spent some time looking at CostsMaster, familiarising themselves with the various windows, and has tried to prepare at least one bill, real or trial. It covers how to prepare basic bills; basic enhancement; success fees; abbreviations; useful tools; basic Claim1 information.
Module 2 is for people who have been using the program for some time, but who now realise that there must be quicker and more efficient ways of using it. As a guide, we say that if you are making more than a very few changes to the bill when it has exported to the word document, you are not using CostsMaster to its full potential. It focuses mainly on inter partes bills, as well as ways to hopefully significantly speed up the time it takes you to prepare bills, and simplify the way in which you prepare them. It covers complex rates/fee earners; autocomplete features; keyboard shortcuts; presets/export options; copy/move/merge.
Module 3 is aimed at users who are at the same level as those attending module 2, and is designed for people who prepare a lot of publicly funded bills/CLAIM 1's. It covers one of the most complex areas of CostsMaster - enhancement, as well as the new CLAIM 1's. Like Module 2, it also covers the features to speed you up, as well as useful hints and work rounds to enable you to get the best out of the program.
